Anything but revision…
May 4th, 2010Hi,
Arghh, I need to blog more often! What is wrong with me! (As Chandler would say, ‘Ooh, don’t open that door’, quote from Friends S07E21 – TOW the Vows). Yes, I watch too much Friends, even more when I’m supposed to be revising.
So, yup, I’m supposed to be revising. But I’m not. I’ve resorted to doing anything to avoid revision. Watch Friends. Watch Movies. Watch more American TV. Do business accounting. Research VAT registration. Fill out business tax forms even though they aren’t due in months. Although admittedly, filling in the tax forms helped my revision. They were so hard to get my head around, revision was the easier option!
So anyway, not really done much. Damn, these blog entries are starting to get really dry aren’t they?! After exams and when uni has finished in June, I’m promising myself that exciting things will be done. I can blog about that.
Themes. I made some really nice new themes for this blog. Spent a LONG time doing them. But I can’t bring myself to remove the current look! I love the simplicity of it! Hmm. Decisions decisions. I lead such a stressful life.
Humaira changed her blog theme. An improvement to the black-ness that she had before. I like the books!
Emad also changed his blog theme. Although I like that it’s a change from the theme he’s had for the last million years or so, I hate that the header of the page takes up more than half of the screen! Need to see more content, less decoration!
Think I’ll change mine after the exams. If I ever get around to designing/editing one which is good enough for me to part with the current one!
I’m taking tonight to go through my bookmark folder of blogs and read/comment on them. I don’t do this enough. Used to read other blogs daily, now it’s more of a monthly job! Ah well, the Apple iPad should help with that! Yup, had to mention it. You know what, it deserves its own paragraph.
Apple iPad. There.
It is really cool though. Can’t wait til the UK release. May 10th pre-order with availability near the end of May. It’s taken a LOT of self-control to not import one in from America. Not helped when your brother is telling you to ‘do it, import it!’ every few hours day. I’m sure the iPad will make me blog more as well. Hah, look at me justifying the need to buy an iPad. Don’t know why I’m bothering to justify, I’m gonna buy it. It’s just fact. I’m a sucker for anything cool/gadget-y/Apple/shiny/sexy.
Elections! The election debates over the last 3 weeks have been fun to watch. Absolutely hate Nick Clegg. I mean if you’re gonna do the whole staying quiet whilst Cameron and Brown are bickering over stuff so it seems like you’re the only rational/sane/non-bickering candidate then at least have the decency to not comment on that every 5 minutes during the debates. Knobhead. A brilliant little part of the debate below:
David Cameron: Yes, the Conservative Party has been too reliant for too long on rich individuals, and yes, the Liberal Democrats took £2.5 million off someone who’s still, I think, a criminal on the run and the money hasn’t been paid back. Let’s not get too holier than thou over all this.
Nick Clegg: Hang on a minute. Before we bandy about these things, let’s be absolutely clear. We were completely exonerated for that, it was years ago. I’m talking about what’s been going on now.
David Cameron: Have you paid the money back?
Nick Clegg: Listen, none of this will make any difference if we allow…
Hah, as much as I also hate David Cameron, It was just funny. I loved the smug-ness of Cameron’s reply, ‘Have you paid the money back?’. Just to equal things up, great picture of David Cameron:
Oh and before I go, had this hilarious moment at home with my mum and brother. We were sat watching T.V and eating when my brother said something obscure about guns, I was confused, then my mum answered the gun question with a bit too much detail! I just turned around and looked with surprise at her hidden gun knowledge! When quizzed about it, Mum said, ‘Yes, I know because I’m head of MFI-no!-sorry!-I meant MI5!’ Me and my brother cracked up. Hilarious. I was like, yes mum, we’re re-doing bit’s of the house but I think your obsessing over teh house a bit too much when you start spouting out names of furniture retailers which are now in administration!
One last thing before I go, just to clarify, my family and me are good, innocent law abiding non-gun-wielding citizens of the UK. Just thought I’d erase any doubt you might have had about us.
